Christiaens Agro Systems has specialised in the development and manufacturing of machines for asparagus, leeks, spring onions and cucumbers. Christiaens built a machine for packing cucumbers and other vegetables. This machine is based and improved on the principle of the Vito sealing machine.
Important advantage of this cucumber sealing machine are:
- The single knife system, which results in a limited use of foil with a saving of up to 20%.

This machine has been designed for sealing cucumber and vegetables, like leek, big carrots, courgette, corn, etc. It wraps the products airtight in foil. Moisture loss is thus prevented so that the durability is enhanced.
How this cucumber shrink wrapper works:
The machine consists of a seal and a shrinking unit, the processing is adjustable. The chain transports the product through the seal and shrink unit. The seal unit operates with two foil roles, one of the roles is driven by an electromagnetic clutch. When the cucumber is wrapped into the foil and cut it goes to the shrink unit where the foil shrinks tightly around the cucumber. The shrink unit consists of two shrink ovens, the products going between them. After shrinking, the product would be cooled by a cold air blower.
